The Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Arc Flash regulations fall under 1910.269 App E and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70E Regulations  

Description: 

Arc flash is an electrical discharge that uses the air as a conductor, exploding from a high voltage source to another conductor or ground nearby. The release can be 5,000 degrees F or hotter, melting nearby metals and damaging electric circuits involved.

Who Needs this Training? 

Workers who perform electrical work that may spark an arc flash will need this training. This training will bring awareness and show prevention methods. 

Dangers of Remaining Uncertified

All employees who are at risk of experiencing an arc flash must receive training. Lacking training may increase the risk of arc flash causing higher rates of injuries and fatalities.
