Workers, both indoors and outdoors, in services, transportation, agriculture, construction, and other industries may be exposed to Stairways or working on and using Stairs that if misused can lead to severe injuries, or death. There are factors that can cause the employee to be more at risk. This training helps to identify factors that can cause harm to the employee and potentially save lives.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Stairway standard 29 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 1926 and Part 1910 contains requirements for Stairways.
Working on and around stairways is hazardous. Stairways are major sources of injuries and fatalities among workers and many of the injuries are serious enough to require time off the job.

Any employee working on or around stairways must be trained to recognize hazards related to stairways and how to minimize hazards.
Fall from stairways can result in injuries and serious harm to workers.

Course format consists of video instruction, intermediate quizzes, and Final Knowledge Check.
A minimum of 15 minutes is required to complete this course.
OSHA requires annual recertification for workers where occupational exposure takes place.
