The Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) radio frequency standards 29 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1910 and 1926 contain requirements for Radio Tower operations.
Radiofrequency (RF) radiation is a type of nonionizing electromagnetic energy. Nonionizing energy causes molecules to vibrate which can generate heat. RF radiation is the combination of radio waves and microwaves.

All telecommunication tower climbers shall be trained before climbing or working around radio frequency towers.
Without the proper training, workers can frequently encounter fall, equipment, and electrical hazards.
